Allan Whittaker
Vice Chairman / Social Secretary

I was born in Macclesfield Cheshire in 1945 and moved to Great Yarmouth at a young age when my parents decided to swap the smog of a mill town for the fresh air of the Norfolk Coast .
I served for 30 years with the Norfolk Constabulary as a police officer, mainly serving within the C.I.D. and retired in 1995 as a Detective Chief Inspector. Needless to say, I became involved in many serious crime enquiries and it was whilst giving a talk to HeartCare in 1995, at one of their social evenings, that I decided to join them. On retiring from the police I was appointed a Deputy Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages, a position which I still hold.
My role at HeartCare involves arranging for interesting speakers/organisations to give talks to members at the monthly social meetings at the Burrage Centre. Whilst I have many contacts, I welcome suggestions from members as to suitable guest speakers. I also have responsibility for the annual prize draw which takes place in October each year.
