Betty Pointon
Chairman

I am married with three grown up children and eight grandchildren, all of whom live in the Waveney area. I am a local girl and I have lived in various parts of Lowestoft - I have now lived in Oulton Broad for the last few years where I am employed part time at a local Doctors' Surgery.
In the 1980's I represented the Kirkley Ward as a District Councillor for eight years; during that time I served both as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Council. I also served as a member of the Great Yarmouth and Waveney Health Authority for 6 years.
I have served as Chairman for a number of organizations, from a one year tenure of a charity fund raising Committee to 7 years as Chairman of Governors and 3 years as Chairman of the local Alzheimers Society. I am currently a Chairman for the Suffolk Valuation Tribunal.
I see my role as Chairman as one of coordinating the various activities of the group and ensuring, both inside and outside of the Committee, the smooth and efficient running of this valuable organization.
