"I was born in Great Yarmouth in 1945, being the second eldest of four girls.   I attended local schools and on leaving in 1960, I took up employment with a company producing electronic component parts.  

Following my marriage in 1966, I left work in 1970 to bring up two children.

In 1981 I resumed employment and took up a position as a Health Care Assistant at the newly opened James Paget Hospital, Gorleston.  During this employment I worked on numerous wards, including the Coronary Care Unit and it was whilst working on this ward that I became aware of the HeartCare Cardiac Support Group and the excellent work they do.

I am married to Allan Whittaker, the current Vice Chairman/Social Secretary of HeartCare CSG  and still work part time at the James Paget Hospital, Gorleston.  

Having four grand children leaves me little time for hobbies but I do enjoy travelling
