Heart patients, their families and people who want to find out more about heart disease from across the UK can now call the BHF’s Heart Information Line. The line has been operating successfully for over a year on a trial basis in the southwest of England.
A team of cardiac nurses and information officers are on hand to provide confidential, accurate and up-to-date information to anyone who wants to find out more about heart disease.
Belinda Linden, Head of the Heart Information Line at the BHF, feels that the line will help people to take control.
"When people are first diagnosed with heart disease, it can be devastating and it can make people unsure about their future. By learning more about their illness and understanding the symptoms and treatments, people can feel they have more control over their lives. Hopefully, we can now help provide people all over the UK with information and support about heart disease."
